Bajaj Discontinues Three Motorcycles in January 2025: Here’s What You Need to Know

Bajaj Auto, a renowned name in India’s two-wheeler market, has decided to discontinue three of its motorcycles.

Pulsar F250, Platina 110 ABS, and CT125X. While each of these models catered to specific audiences, they struggled to generate substantial demand. The decision to discontinue them marks Bajaj’s effort to realign its portfolio for better market performance.

Why Were These Bikes Discontinued?

The primary reason for discontinuation is low sales performance. Despite having unique features and competitive pricing, these bikes didn’t resonate with their target audience.

The Pulsar F250, launched in late 2021, was priced at approximately ₹1.5 lakh. It featured a sporty design and a 250cc engine, serving as a faired version of the Pulsar N250. This model was introduced to replace the iconic Pulsar 220F, but it failed to achieve the same popularity. The lack of demand led Bajaj to reintroduce the Pulsar 220F while phasing out the F250.

The Platina 110 ABS, launched in 2022 at ₹79,000, was a groundbreaking commuter bike. It was the first 110cc motorcycle in India to feature ABS, emphasizing safety. However, the innovative feature wasn’t enough to attract budget-conscious buyers, resulting in the bike’s discontinuation.

The CT125X, introduced in mid-2022, was a rugged, durable bike aimed at semi-urban and rural customers. Priced between ₹73,000 and ₹77,000, it promised affordability and reliability. Despite its robust appeal, the CT125X couldn’t achieve the sales numbers Bajaj expected.

Impact on Bajaj’s Lineup

Bajaj’s decision to discontinue these models reflects its intent to focus on products with stronger market demand. By phasing out low-performing models, Bajaj is making room for new, innovative motorcycles.

Notably, the reintroduction of the Pulsar 220F demonstrates the company’s willingness to adapt based on customer preferences. Furthermore, Bajaj’s investments in electric vehicles (EVs) and premium motorcycles suggest a forward-thinking approach to its product lineup.

What’s Next for Bajaj Fans?

For those who were considering the discontinued models, there’s no need to worry. Bajaj has a robust pipeline of upcoming products. The company is expected to launch new models in the sports bike, EV, and commuter segments, ensuring a variety of options for customers in the future.

Additionally, Bajaj’s commitment to innovation means exciting developments are always on the horizon. Whether you’re a performance bike enthusiast or someone looking for a reliable daily commuter, Bajaj’s offerings are bound to cater to your needs.
